Brick + Mortar Brick + Mortar represent the underground, the oppressed, the disillusioned, and voiceless. Fusing driving percussion, grooving bass, eclectic samples, and anthemic vocals creates a new world sound that is so fresh you truly need to hear it for yourself. Their live show is a party that erupts like a magnetic sonic volcano catching the attention of everyone in the room, drawing them to the stage full of intrigue and energy. It's hard to really put it into words. Words never do them justice. You need to experience it on your own. |

Kyle McGill Saturday, March 31st 12:45pm New Jersey singer/songwriter Kyle McGill is on a mission to enlighten the mind and body of anyone willing to listen. Music has always been an important structural part of Kyle's life, and he has a vision of bringing that importance into the lives of his listeners. Keeping an open, willing mind when writing songs, he takes inspiration from many genres and philosophies, and thus has developed his own unique style. McGill has an uncanny ability of taking a thought or idea from his head and truly turning it into something personal, yet universal. You won't find preachy, "in-your-face" simple-meaning lyrics, but key words juxtaposed with others that actually create his message... one with a maturity that belies the age of this young musician. McGill's first record, the recently released Embrace has been recorded at Milkboy Studios and produced by Milkboy's very own Tim Sonnefeld. Tim and Kyle established an essential bond when producing this record and the collaboration has lifted Kyle's music to its full potential. As well, Kyle had the privilege of working with some of Philadelphia's best musicians and engineers, including Devin Greenwood. Kyle has played at some of Philadelphia's best clubs and venues such as - The Tin Angel, Northstar Bar, World Cafe Live, The Havana and has also been featured on Radio 104.5. |

Turf War Saturday, March 31st 3:15pm Turf War started in 2008 as a bedroom solo project for lead singer John Robinson and quickly turned into a full band with Brian McGrath filling in on drums and backup vocals, Cecil Moss on Guitar, and Bradley Morris on bass. They created a sound reminiscent of early Replacements and brought on a full party attitude to their live sets. After playing the club circuit in Augusta for 3 years and gaining a wide audience they set their dreams higher and made the move to Atlanta, GA. It didn’t take long for people in Atlanta to start recognizing the bands energy and catchy songs. They even caught the attention of fellow Atlanta rocker Ian St Pé of the Black Lips, who came on to produce the bands first full length. In the process of recording the album they met Ian McDonald, who was engineering their record. John quickly saw a likeness in Ian musically and asked him to join Turf War, making them a five piece. The band headed out to Texas on their first run outside of GA in 2011 to play SXSW, looking for a label to put out their record and hoping to find a wider audience. They decided to make a partnership to release the self titled debut of Turf War Years of Living Dangerously, set to street on October 18, 2011. Turf War plans to tour this fall in support of their debut album. |
